COLLOCATION METHOD FOR FREDHOLM-VOLTERRA INTEGRAL EQUATIONS WITH WEAKLY KERNELS
In this paper it is shown that the use of uniform meshes leads to optimal convergence rates provided that the analytical solutions of a particular class of Fredholm-Volterra integral equations (FVIEs) are smooth.
متن کاملA note on collocation methods for Volterra integro-differential equations with weakly singular kernels
will be employed in the analysis of the principle properties of the collocation approximations; the extension to nonlinear equations is straightforward (cf. [1, p. 225]). High-order numerical methods for VIDEs with weakly singular kernels may be found in [1,2,6,7,8]. In this note we shall consider collocation methods for VIDE (1.1), based on Brunner's approach [1]. The following method and nota...
متن کاملThe Legendre Wavelet Method for Solving Singular Integro-differential Equations
In this paper, we present Legendre wavelet method to obtain numerical solution of a singular integro-differential equation. The singularity is assumed to be of the Cauchy type. The numerical results obtained by the present method compare favorably with those obtained by various Galerkin methods earlier in the literature.
متن کاملSpline collocation method for integro-differential equations with weakly singular kernels
In the first part of this paper we study the regularity properties of solutions to initial or boundary-value problems of Fredholm integro-differential equationswithweakly singular or other nonsmooth kernels. We then use these results in the analysis of a piecewise polynomial collocation method for solving such problems numerically. Presented numerical examples display that theoretical results ar...
متن کاملConvergence Analysis of the Spectral Methods for Weakly Singular Volterra Integro-Differential Equations with Smooth Solutions
The theory of a class of spectral methods is extended to Volterra integrodifferential equations which contain a weakly singular kernel (t − s)−μ with 0 < μ < 1. In this work, we consider the case when the underlying solutions of weakly singular Volterra integro-differential equations are sufficiently smooth. We provide a rigorous error analysis for the spectral methods, which shows that both th...
